1/700 Myoko now complete and 1/350 pre-dreadnought Admiral Ushakov started
I finished the Myoko on 23 May, 18 years after starting it. It is not my best work but is not the worst either. A few cellphone photos will be added to the Flickr site shortly. Later this year I will take a proper photo record of the model.
Two days ago, I started a 1/350 scale ship, the Russian pre-Dreadnought coast defence battleship “Admiral Ushakov”.
The ship fought at the Battle of Tsushima in 1905. It was hit by heavy calibre gunfire and badly damaged before being scuttled on 28 May 1905, 119 years ago to the day.
The model is a rare Russian resin kit made in 2011. It includes photo-etch, turned metal funnels and gun barrels and will be a fairly challenging project. I am enjoying it already.
